Windsor police have arrested one suspect and are looking for three others in a string of commercial break-ins early Sunday.
Windsor police were called to four separate businesses Sunday after a vehicle rammed into the buildings. The incidents happened on Temple Drive, Etienne Boulevard, Walker Road, and Foster Avenue. No attempts were made to enter the premises in these cases.
A short time later, the same vehicle was used to break into a store on Walker Road near Cabana Road. At this location, four suspect used a crowbar to enter the store and various cannabis products were stolen.
Finally, a business on Cabana Road was broken into with a crowbar and cannabis items were stolen.
Members of the Windsor Police Target Base Unit started an investigation. Officers believe the initial four incidents were used as a diversion from the subsequent crimes.
Investigators identified a 54-year-old suspect who was arrested Thursday on Pillette Avenue. They were charged with break and enter, wearing a disguise to commit an offence, mischief, possession of break-in tools, possession of property obtained by crime, and breach of probation.
Descriptions of the remaining suspects have not been released.
