Peavey Mart warns of online scams as it prepares to close all locations

As it prepares to close all of its locations, Peavey Mart is warning customers of an online scam.

The parent company of the farm goods retailer, Peavey Industries LP, is warning of fake social media accounts and websites posing as Peavey Mart in an attempt to scam customers with what appear to be flash deals as the chain prepares to shutter all its locations across the country.

A statement from Peavey Mart says that if the website isn't peaveymart.com, it is a fake, and due to the stores getting set for closure, the website isn't accepting or taking any new online orders.

Customers should be wary of spam accounts or fake sites trying to take advantage of customers who may think they've stumbled on a great liquidation deal.

Peavey Mart stresses the liquidation sales are in-store only and they never ask for credit card payments online or over the phone.

The chain states that if you believe you have been a victim of fraud from a fake website impersonating Peavey Mart, you are advised to:

-Immediately contact your credit card company to report the fraud.

-Work with them to resolve the situation and protect your funds.

-Contact your local RCMP department non-emergency line and create a police report.

Peavey Industries LP announced last month it’s planning to close all of its 90 stores across Canada after nearly 60 years in business. There is still no firm date on when all the locations are expected to close.
