The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) said the majority of students suspended this week for incomplete immunization records are back in class.
In an update Friday morning, the health unit reported that 253 kindergarten through Grade 8 students are still on the suspended list, down from 398 on Monday.
The Immunization of School Pupils Act requires students to have an updated vaccine record with the health unit, receive any missing shots, or submit a valid exemption.
Records can be updated online with proof of immunization attached, by asking your family physician to fax any information to the health unit, or by bringing your records to their offices in Windsor or Leamington.
If shots are missing, book an appointment with your family doctor, obtain a valid exemption, or visit the health unit, which is hosting walk-in clinics this week and throughout March Break.
The deadline for secondary students to submit updated records is Thursday, March 13, to avoid suspension, which begins on March 17. As of Wednesday, there were 1,105 high school students with incomplete records.
