Windsor police have identified all five suspects wanted in connection to break-ins at three local restaurants.
Around 5 a.m. on March 12, the drive-thru of a restaurant on North Service Road was pried open. Unknown suspects climbed through the opening and appeared to record the break-in on a cell phone.
Police said a similar incident happened at a restaurant on Huron Church Road on March 14. The suspect forced open a drive-thru window, entered the store, and filmed themselves dancing and berating employees.
No injuries were reported.
The same restaurant was broken into on March 16 at 3:30 a.m. In this case, five suspects entered the restaurant and one person stayed outside to record the crime.
Police have now identified the five suspects involved, with the latest identified on Tuesday morning. Three of the suspects are minors.
Police believe the incidents are linked to a social media trend that dares people to film themselves breaking into coffee shops and other eateries.
Anyone with information about these or similar incidents is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service Target Base Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4350.
