Man arrested in vehicle theft and fraud case

Windsor police have arrested a 33-year-old man in a case of vehicle theft and credit card fraud.

On the morning of Sunday, March 9, a car was stolen on Huron Church Road near McKay Avenue. Investigators said the suspect entered the unlocked car, took a spare set of keys from the victim's purse, and took off.

The suspect then allegedly drove to a gas station at Tecumseh Road East and Huron Church Road, where he used the victim's credit card to make purchases.

Police reported on Tuesday that the suspect was arrested at a home on University Avenue West near Dougall Avenue.

He is charged with motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen credit card, and wearing a disguise to commit an offence.

The charges have not been proven in court.
