LaSalle police have credited tips from the public in getting two suspected impaired drivers off the road.
The first driver was arrested on Friday afternoon. Police received a complaint about a driver who struck a fire hydrant in a residential area, then fled the scene.
The vehicle was found a short time later, and it was also reported that the driver had almost hit a pedestrian, and had two small children in the car.
The 46-year-old LaSalle resident was charged after a blood-alcohol level of four times the legal limit was detected.
The second driver was arrested on Saturday morning. Police responded to a call at around 6 a.m. about a driver stopped in the middle of Highway 3. Officers found the driver asleep behind the wheel.
The 37-year-old from Windsor allegedly blew three times the legal blood-alcohol limit and was arrested.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
The charges have not been proven in court.
