Windsor residents will start seeing the brown and beige trucks of Miller Waste Systems rolling down streets starting Tuesday.
The company is now responsible for garbage and yard waste collection throughout the city.
"We're looking forward to springing into action. All of the collection units are state-of-the-art so we'll be able to be very productive. They're outfitted with the latest technology to be able to allow our workers to work safely and proactively and make sure that we don't miss a stop," said Joe Johnson, president of Miller Waste Services.
Waste collection in the city has shifted to a Tuesday to Friday schedule. All collection days have been adjusted forward one day. No other changes have been made to the service.
"Residents should really notice nothing. Hopefully it's just a continued service. I know Miller really invests heavily in customer service and I like to say that the less noise a collector is making is probably good," said Jim Leether, Manager of Environmental Service for the City of Windsor.
Any problems with the service should still be reported through 311.
