Pollock launches campaign for Windsor-West

Liberal candidate for Windsor-West Richard Pollock officially launched his campaign Friday, stating he would defend the region against U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs.

Pollock has worked as a Crown prosecutor and as a civil litigator with the downtown law firm of Mousseau, DeLuca, McPherson, Prince LLP.

“I’m officially launching my campaign as the Liberal candidate for Windsor West to defend a community and country under attack, to lower your cost of living and build more homes, and to be a strong voice inside Mark Carney’s Canada Strong government,” said Pollock.

Irek Kusmierczyk, incumbent for Windsor–Tecumseh–Lakeshore, and Chris Sutton, Liberal candidate for Essex, joined Pollock for the launch of his campaign. They all spoke about the need for a strong government response.

“For more than 20 years, the voice of Windsor West has been marginalized on the opposition benches,” Pollock said. “It’s time that voice took centre stage in the government of Mark Carney – a Canada Strong government that will stand united against the threats of Donald Trump and stand strong to protect working families and the automotive sector that is the lifeblood of our local economy.”

Also running in Windsor-West are NDP incumbent Brian Masse, Harb Gill for the Conservative Party of Canada, Louay Ahmad of the Green Party, and Jacob Bezaire for People's Party of Canada.

Election Day is April 28, 2025.
