Driver charged after pickup crashes through east Windsor fence

A woman is facing impaired driving charges after Windsor police say a pickup truck crashed through a fence over the weekend.

Police say they were called on Saturday before 11 a.m. to Enfield Court near Little River Acres Drive. When officers arrived, they saw a pickup truck that appeared to have destroyed a fence at someone's home. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

The driver left the vehicle and tried to run, but officers quickly caught up with her. Upon questioning her, they noticed a strong odour of alcohol on her breath. She was then taken to police headquarters, where she failed a breathalyzer.

The 40-year-old woman is charged with impaired driving and driving with an excessive blood-alcohol concentration.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Damage to the property has been estimated at $3,000.
