Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a man after a weekend break-and-enter in Leamington.

Essex County officers, a K-9 Unit, and members of the Emergency Response Team were called shortly after noon on Saturday to an abandoned building on Talbot Street West. They were responding to a call about a break-in in progress.

Officers spotted a man within the building and arrested him without incident.

The 40-year-old Kingsville resident has been charged with break-and-enter to commit an offence.

The suspect has been released and will have a chance to respond to the charge in a Windsor court on May 21.
