City says sports fields and baseball diamonds open in May

The weather may be nice outside, but the City of Windsor asks residents to stay off the baseball diamonds and sports fields for a few more weeks.

Weather permitting, city staff hope to open baseball and softball diamonds on Saturday, May 3, and the sports fields for all other activities one week later.

City crews are already working to ensure sports fields are in great shape when they open. In the meantime, the turf needs time to mature.

Using a sports field without a permit could mean a fine.

Anyone with questions about specific sports fields or permits can call the Seasonal and Sports Facilitator at 519-253-2300 ext. 2714.
