Two stabbed at Ottawa Street bar

A suspect is facing charges after allegedly stabbing two people after he was asked to leave an Ottawa Street bar.

Windsor police say they were called to the establishment on Ottawa Street near Pierre Street around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. Officers were told a patron became combative when he was asked to leave. The man took out a knife and charged at an employee and stabbed him several times. A second employee came to the victim's aid and was also stabbed.

The suspect was restrained by employees until police arrived and arrested him.

Police report the victims were treated by EMS before they were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 29-year-old was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.
