LaSalle Police honour citizen for role locating elderly man

LaSalle Police Chief Michael Pearce had the honour of recognizing a civilian at the last LaSalle Police Services Board meeting.

Mohamad Alseblani received the Chief of Police Citizen's Award for his assistance last month. Alseblani assisted as a translator after an elderly man wandered away. Thanks to his help, the man was located and safely returned home.

Pearce also recognized three officers, including dispatchers Lisa Homenick and Teresa Pare. They received Chief of Police Commendations for organizing the service's first Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics Ontario.

The event raised $52,344.

The third officer who received a Chief of Police Commendation was Constable Jaideep Randhawa. He was honoured for his work in a complex fraud investigation that involved several jurisdictions in different provinces. The investigation resulted in several arrests.
