Voters to choose the next Parliament

For those who haven't taken advantage of early voting, Canadians head to the polls today.

Today is Election Day, and across Canada, people are selecting their MPs to sit in the 45th Parliament.

For the first time, thanks to redistricting, there are 343 seats up for grabs.

Polls open at 9:30 a.m. and close at 9:30 p.m., though anyone in line at closing time will be allowed to vote.

Four of the seats cover Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent. Candidate profiles for all four ridings are available if you're still undecided.

In Chatham-Kent-Leamington, Conservative incumbent Dave Epp is running against Liberal Keith Pickard, Trevor Lee of the People's Party, Seamus McInnis Fleming of the NDP, and the Green Party's James Plunkett.

Running in the Essex riding are incumbent Chris Lewis of the Conservatives, Lori Wightman of the NDP, Liberal Chris Sutton, and Jason Henry of the People's Party.

For the newly redrawn riding of Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore, incumbent Irek Kusmierczyk is running for the Liberals. He is being challenged by Nick Babic of the People's Party, Helmi Charif of the Centrist Party, Kathy Borrelli of the Conservatives, Alex Ilijoski of the NDP, Beth St. Denis of the Christian Heritage Party, and Roxanne Tellier of the Greens.

In Windsor West, the incumbent is Brian Masse of the NDP. He is running against Richard Pollock of the Liberals, Conservative Harbinder Gill, the People's Party's Jacob Bezaire, Louay Ahmad of the Green Party, Communist Joseph Markham, and Margaret Villamizar for the Marxist-Leninist Party.

WindsorNewsToday.ca and CKNewsToday.ca will provide comprehensive online coverage of the results as polls close across Canada on Monday night. There will also be hourly on-air updates on all our radio stations after the polls close in Ontario.
