Hazardous material crews spent Monday working on an ammonia leak in Windsor.
Windsor fire crews were called shortly before 1 p.m. Monday to Elliott Street West at Crawford Avenue for a report of a chemical spill.
Hazmat crews were also sent, and it was determined that the cause of the spill was an ammonia leak.
As a precaution, nearby buildings were evacuated, but around 2:30 p.m., Windsor Fire and Rescue tweeted that any ammonia would rise into the atmosphere and dissipate.
There were no safety concerns for anybody outside the building, but one person was treated on the spot and released for minor exposure.
Fire officials said that as of 6:30 p.m. on Monday, the leak was isolated and the building was being ventilated.
