There will be an inquest into the overdose death of an inmate at the Southwest Detention Centre in Windsor.
The inquest is mandatory. It was announced on Monday by the regional supervising coroner in the West Region, Doctor Elizabeth Urbantke.
Joseph Gratton was 31 when he died, and the inquest will look into the circumstances surrounding his death. It'll make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths in the future.
Gratton was one of five men who overdosed within 16 days in 2019.
A date and location for the inquest wasn't announced. That information will be revealed at a later date.
