Windsor police say four people have been arrested following a wide-reaching investigation into illicit drugs.
Four separate searches connected to this investigation led to the seizure of $237,935 in suspected illicit drugs.
Investigators from the Drugs and Guns Enforcement (DIGS) Unit began their probe earlier this year.
On Friday, officers from the Emergency Services Unit found and arrested a 36-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman on Cameron Avenue near Wyandotte Street West.
Among the items seized upon the arrest were fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, nine tablets of Teva Clobazam, 20 capsules of Kadian, eight tablets of Trazadone, $20,975 in Canadian currency, and $335 in American currency.
A search of the suspect's car uncovered more fentanyl and cocaine, assorted opiate tablets, 81 tablets of morphine, 19 tablets of lorazepam, 31 capsules of amphetamine, a digital scale, and food colouring.
Officers then executed a warrant on Howard Avenue near Charles Street, which returned fentanyl, hydromorphone, a collapsible baton, a sawed-off Remington Wingmaster Model 870 shotgun, and seven 20 gauge shotgun shells. A 28-year-old man was found and arrested shortly after.
Another search at the Cameron Avenue location resulted in the confiscation of fentanyl, a scale, baggies, a loaded Ruger 5.7mm x 28 handgun, 18 rounds of 5.7mm x 28 ammunition, and an extended magazine.
All three suspects face multiple counts of possession of a Schedule I substance with intent to sell, unsafe storage of a firearm, and possession of an unloaded regulation firearm.
A 36-year-old man is also charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm, possession of an unloaded regulation firearm, failure to comply with a release order, breach of probation, and possession of a prohibited device (extended magazine) knowing no authority.
A 26-year-old woman is also charged with possession of a firearm without a licence and possession of a prohibited device (extended magazine).
A 28-year-old man is also charged with possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm, knowing no authority; and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
On Monday, a 30-year-old woman was arrested in the area of Pelissier and Ellis Street West, on charges including Possession of a Schedule I substance with intent to sell, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence, unsafe storage of a firearm, and possession of an unloaded regulation firearm.
The charges have not been proven in court.
