Following a lengthy investigation, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested three Kingsville residents on multiple charges.
Shortly before 1 a.m. on January 1, OPP officers stopped a vehicle on Heritage Road in Kingsville for a suspected licence plate discrepancy.
The traffic stop led to a widespread investigation into break-and-enters and stolen property. Once it was completed, the three people were arrested on numerous alleged violations of the Highway Traffic Act, the Criminal Code, and the Cannabis Control Act.
All three are charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of break-in instruments.
A 51-year-old man is also charged with break-and-enter, trespassing by night, failure to comply with an undertaking, driving while under suspension, driving a motor vehicle with no permit, using a plate not authorized for the vehicle, and driving a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.
A 56-year-old man is also charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon and failure to comply with an undertaking.
A 43-year-old man is also charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon.
The charges have not been proven in court. All three have been released and will be able to respond to the counts in a Windsor court.
