You might want to mark June 5 to June 8 on your calendar. That's when this year's LaSalle Strawberry Festival is planned at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex.
Applications are open for participants who want to be in the LaSalle Strawberry Festival Parade. The annual tradition is Saturday, June 7, at 10 a.m.
The town will accept those applications up until May 30. Applicants can fill out the form at the LaSalle Strawberry Festival's webpage.
The parade starts on the Turkey Creek bridge on Front Road and ends at Sacred Heart Drive.
"The LaSalle Strawberry Festival is a celebration of our town's history and community spirit," said Mayor Crystal Meloche. "As our longest-running event, now into its 37th year, it reflects the true heart of LaSalle, where families, friends, and visitors come to celebrate summer."
This year's musical acts include The Adam Butcher Band on Thursday evening, Slim Pickerel Band on Friday night, and The Jody Raffoul Band on Saturday.
Raffoul is from Leamington and has built a loyal fan base through his live performances and authentic songwriting.
Slim Pickerel hails from Windsor. The four-piece band blends rock, folk, country, Motown and the Blues into their own musical style, reflecting their upbringing in Essex County.
Adam Butcher, from Amherstburg, has a magnetic stage presence and is known for his passion for country music.
New to the festival this year is Canadian Throw 2 Catch Entertainment Group with their Geek Quest Show. The show features jaw-dropping acrobatics, humour, and heart.
