OLG reaches new 20-year agreement with Caesars Entertainment

Windsor's casino will stay with the Caesars brand for another two decades.

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation announced a new 20-year management agreement with Caesars Entertainment after a comprehensive procurement process.

"We're really excited to continue the relationship and grow together and a new relationship with Caesars to continue to maintain our competitiveness in this very competitive gaming market in this region," said David Pridmore, Chief Gaming Officer with OLG.

Caesars Entertainment has been operating the Windsor casino for 17 years and currently employs 1,800 people.

"I'm really proud of this group and I really want what's best for this property and employees and I feel strongly that the Caesars brand is the best way for that to go," said Kevin Laforet Caesars Windsor President and CEO.

The RFP process began in 2023 after it was delayed due to COVID-19. The new agreement will come into effect early in 2026.

"The brand of Caesars is hard to compete against, and the fact is, in a city like Windsor, where you have all the competition in Detroit, it's important to have a brand that's attractive," said James Stewart, Unifor Local 444 President. "We have shows here, you have people who come specifically for the brand and I think this is important stability for employees and our members for the next 20 years."
