Locally significant rainfall possible this weekend.

Local rainfall amounts exceeding 50 mm.

When:
Today through early Sunday morning.

Additional information:
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop over southwestern Ontario in the morning before moving into the Greater Golden Horseshoe in the afternoon. Given the potential for slow-moving showers and thunderstorms and for some areas to receive multiple rounds of precipitation, local amounts exceeding 50 mm are possible.

Note that rainfall amounts will be highly variable across the region and not all areas will receive this much rain. There remains considerable uncertainty as to exactly which areas will receive the highest rainfall amounts.

Additional showers are expected through Sunday, especially to the east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.

Water may pool on roads and in low-lying areas.

Don't drive through flooded roadways.

Avoid low-lying areas. Watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Expect a day of partly cloudy with clear spells

Windsor police say a pair of kayakers are safe after being rescued from the Detroit River Thursday morning.Few details are available, but officers were called to Lakeview Marina at around 10:30 a.m., for a report of two kayakers who had overturned near the marina.Windsor police told <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://WindsorNewsToday.ca">WindsorNewsToday.ca</a> that bystanders in a nearby boat helped right the kayakers.The pair were checked out by first responders. Police say they were not seriously hurt.Law enforcement across Ontario have urged people to <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://windsornewstoday.ca/windsor/news/2025/05/14/opp-shine-a-light-on-preventable-fatal-collisions">be safe on highways</a> and waterways as we head into Victoria Day weekend.
