The Windsor International Film Festival has announced the line-up for two exciting summer events.
WIFF Under the Stars returns to the front lawn of the downtown aquatic centre from Friday, June 13 - Sunday, June 15.
"I think this year, WIFF Under the Stars is the most needed for the community. Something lighthearted and positive that people can come and enjoy, it's totally free, and just relax.. There's a lot going on in the world, and I think something that's just innocent and fun and just a good weekend outdoors is exactly what the doctor ordered," said Vincent Georgie, executive director and chief programmer.
The daytime lineup includes family favourites like the Jungle Book and Inside Out 2. While the evening entertainment brings back festival favourites like Conclave, classics like Some Like it Hot, and local stories like It Happened in Walkerville.
"We take into consideration our audience. What does our audience want to watch? What we always hear from them is give me stuff I can take the kids out that we can enjoy, give me some stuff that we can go on a date night or just hang out with more adult friends," said Georgie.
WIFF will also be hosting the Women of WIFF weekend from June 21 and 22. Tickets are on sale now.
"All films that are about the lives of women and stories about women," said Georgie. "Everything from Breakaway Femmes, which is about women participating in the Tour de France cycling competition, including local athlete Kelly-Ann Way, all the way to Mamma Mia, which showcases stories of female friendship and mother and daughter relationships."
The full line-up for both weekend events is available online now.
