The Town of Tecumseh will continue upgrading its water system with funding from Queens Park.
Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Andrew Dowie announced Wednesday that the town will receive $2.6-million to support water main replacement projects in 2025.
"This project will ensure residents have reliable access to clean drinking water and will help support future growth and development in our town," Dowie said in a media release. "By working together with our federal and local partners, we are building stronger, healthier communities across Ontario."
The money will help pay for water main and sewer upgrades on Centennial and Woodbridge Drives. About 1.75-kilometres worth of water mains will be replaced, along with 13 new fire hydrants, and new water valves and connections.
The funding is coming from the Canada Infrastructure Program, Green Stream Stage II 2021 Intake.
