Production on 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona RT paused

Stellantis has paused production on next year's model of the Dodge Charger Daytona RT at the Windsor Assembly Plant, and it blames American tariffs.

"Production on the Dodge Charger Daytona RT is postponed for the 2026 model year as we continue to assess the impact of U.S. tariff policies," said the company on Thursday. "The Charger's flexible, multi-energy STLA Large platform allows us to focus on the Charger Daytona Scat Pack's performance as the world's quickest and most powerful muscle car."

Spokesperson Lou Ann Gosselin said the postponement is only the electric version of the muscle car. Production on other variations is on track.

She said the move will not impact jobs at the Windsor Assembly Plant.

About 4,500 people work at the plant in Windsor.
