The Windsor Police Service Board hopes to have a new chief of police selected by October.
The board has engaged the services of Odgers Berndtson for the recruitment process that will begin in June.
Board Chair Jo-Anne Gignac says a committee of the board will be struck to put together a job posting for the position. Odgers will then be responsible for assessing the candidates.
"It's a process that's lengthy. They will then bring recommendations to the committee in terms of what applications they've received and what they perceive as a good fit," said Gignac.
Multiple rounds of interviews will be completed by the committee over the summer. The final candidate will be selected and announced by October.
Chief Jason Bellaire announced his intention to retire in February 2025. He will turn in his badge in November.
