Heads up drivers: County Road 42 closes at Manning Road on Monday

The County of Essex is warning drivers that County Road 42 at Manning Road will close at 7 a.m. on Monday.

Crews are building a new roundabout there, and construction is expected to last until late September.

There are detours. Drivers who are westbound traffic on County Road 42 will need to use Patillo Road to County Road 22. Westbound traffic won't be allowed through the intersection.

Eastbound traffic on County Road 42 will be closed at Lesperance Road, so drivers will have to take Banwell Road to the EC Row Expressway.

During this phase of the project, Manning Road will remain open, but there will be intermittent closures.

The traffic signals at County Road 42 and Manning Road will be shut off on Monday morning.

The new roundabout and other enhancements on County Road 42 are part of a larger multi-year project to increase road capacity and improve neighbourhood connectivity in the area. It will also widen County Road 42 to five lanes and add bike lanes, sidewalks, and multi-use trails.
