Windsor Fire and Rescue say they have completed investigating a pair of fires in the city on Tuesday.
The first incident was early Tuesday morning. Firefighters were called to a home on Columbia Court. The fire originated in the basement and resulted in one person being treated for minor injuries and released.
Two people and one cat have been displaced. The cause was deemed accidental, with a damage estimate at about $150,000.
The second fire broke out before 11 a.m. on Randolph Avenue near Fanchette Street near the University of Windsor. Multiple crews responded to the address, where it was determined that the fire was confined to a mattress.
The cause was a blanket that was accidentally ignited by a stove. The damage estimate is at $5,000, and three people were left to find a place to stay.
