Windsor police arrested five people and are looking for two more in relation to the theft of over $500,000 of alcohol last month.

"The non-retail value of the items stolen was $61,000 however the retail value is over half a million, so it's a very valuable commodity," said Inspector David DeLuca.

On June 5, police arrested five people at locations throughout Windsor and Essex County. They are all facing a handful of charges in relation to the crime.

Most of the whiskey has not been recovered.

"We have several locations that are still under investigation. We have executed two warrants so far at locations, we've recovered 66 of the 1,072 boxes that are missing," said DeLuca.

Investigators are hoping surveillance footage of the remaining suspects will help to identify them.

The first suspect is described as a White man, approximately 40 years of age, with a dark-coloured full beard. At the time of the incident, he wore a baseball hat and a dark-coloured hoodie.

The second suspect is described as a White man, approximately 30 years of age. At the time of the incident, he wore a dark-coloured hoodie with the hood up, black shorts, and black shoes.
