A traffic stop over the weekend by Windsor police has led to a driver being arrested on drug-related and impaired driving counts.
Police were called to Watson Avenue off Riverside Drive East at around 7 p.m. on Sunday to check on the well-being of a driver. A caller said that a vehicle had been idling for over two hours with someone in the driver's seat not moving.
Officers found the man slumped over at the wheel and a bag of suspected narcotics nearby. Police awakened the man, determined he was impaired, and arrested him.
A search of the vehicle uncovered various amounts of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, and oxycodone, plus a cell phone, two digital scales, and drug packaging materials.
The 23-year-old man is charged with possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, and oxycodone with intent to sell, and impaired operation.
The charges have not been proven in court.
