Windsor-Essex residents celebrating lotto wins

Two residents of Windsor-Essex are celebrating big lottery wins this summer.

Jeffrey Petrusenko of Windsor was awarded $1,250,000 in the DAILY KENO mid-day draw on May 4.

“I saw a promotion on OLG.ca where you buy four LOTTO 6/49 tickets and get one free, so I decided to grab some. I got a few LOTTO 6/49 tickets and randomly decided to add a DAILY KENO to my purchase,” said Petrusenko, while picking up his prize at the OLF Prize Centre. "It was only my second time playing DAILY KENO.”

Petrusenko said he plans to invest most of the money and take himself on a vacation.

“You always play with the hope of winning big but never expect it’ll happen to you,” he said. “I’m proof that it’s possible. I feel very grateful and blessed to have won this prize.”

The winning ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.

Tanya Heine of Comber took home a $100,000 prize from an instant scratch CROSSWORD TRIPLER.

“I played my ticket at home and didn’t even realize I’d matched six words until I got to the last word,” said Heine while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her winnings. “I thought, ‘There’s no way,’ so I cross-referenced all the words on the ticket multiple times to be sure. It was unbelievable!”

Heine's plans for the winnings include charity, investing in her child's education and taking herself on a little shopping spree.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada on Manning Road in Maidstone.
