DWBIA plans Motown Block Party for downtown on Saturday

A Motown Block Party is in the works for this Saturday in downtown Windsor.

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association says it'll be a high-energy celebration of food, drinks, dancing, and Motown's special brand of high-energy music.

"Motown isn't just music," said Chair of the DWBIA, Chris MacLeod. "It's movement, memory, and magic. Bringing that energy to the heart of Windsor is about more than entertainment. It's about celebrating culture, connection, and the soul of the city."

The party starts at 4 p.m. on Pitt Street East in front of Panache Ultra Lounge, On A Roll Sushi and Sliders, LaGuardia Italian Cuisine, and the Eastwoods Grill and Bar.

At 8 p.m., Soul Delegation will hit the stage with its infectious rhythm section and powerhouse vocals.

Admission is free. The patios will be extended. The cocktails will be themed, and the DWBIA promises the streets will pulse with soulful hits.

"The crowd is going to light up the core," enthused Ward 3 Councillor Renaldo Agostino. "It's always good to reconnect, and the best way to do that is with music in the city."

Those planning on going can register at motowndowntown.eventbrite.ca.
