A 46-year-old man is facing charges after a four-year-old boy was sexually assaulted.
The Windsor Police Service alleges the assault happened while the man, a family friend, was left alone with the child during an unsupervised outing.
Police say the child's parent noticed significant injuries after the incident then brought the child to the hospital and called police.
The suspect crossed the border into Michigan before officers could locate him.
An arrest warrant was issued and the man was arrested Friday in Royal Oak, Michigan, with the help of the United States Marshals Service and the Ontario Provincial Police-led Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement.
The 46-year-old faces charges of aggravated sexual assault and sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age.
