LaSalle police investigating stabbing

LaSalle police are looking for a suspect after a 31-year-old man was stabbed five times.

Police say they were called to a home on Reaume Road around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He is in stable condition.

An investigation revealed the assault happened on Delmar Street near Trinity Avenue. Police say the suspect and the victim are not known to each other.

Investigators are asking residents and businesses in the area to check their footage round the time crime for possible evidence.

Council to decide fate of flag raising policy

The city's existing policy was put on hold last November because of construction on the new City Hall Civic Esplanade project. Since then, city staff have reviewed the policy with best practices in other cities.
