Police investigating auto thefts

Windsor police are looking for information about two vehicle theft investigations in the city's west end.

Just before 8 a.m. on June 26, police were called for an abandoned car on Malden Road. Investigators determined the vehicle was stolen from a home on Girardot Street before it was abandoned.

About an hour later, officers were called to Brock Street, where a car's ignition was damaged when someone tried to steal it.

Investigators are asking residents and business owners in the area bordered by Prince Road, Tecumseh Road, Huron Church Road, and Millen Street to review their surveillance footage from the early morning hours of June 26 for evidence.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Target Base Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4350. They can also contact Windsor & Essex County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS)
