Visitors to downtown Windsor will have a chance to see live boxing above the city streets.
Amateur boxers from across Ontario will gather on Saturday night for the first-ever Rumble on the Roof, presented by the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA), Border City Boxing Club, Boxing Ontario, and Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI).
It begins at 7 p.m. on the rooftop of the Pelissier Street Parking Garage.
"We’re turning an everyday space into something unforgettable and bringing people together through sport, music, and food," said DWBIA Chair Chris MacLeod. "And it’s all happening on an unbeatable and unexpected rooftop atmosphere."
The Border City Boxing Club is producing the fight card. The scheduled main event is Border City's Marcelo Carbelo against Blue Collar standout Michael Harrington in a hometown showdown.
Another fight will feature two undefeated participants, the 9-0 Ahmad Chedid against the 11-0 Ali Oda.
A champion-on-champion bout is also scheduled between the 119 lb. National Champion Rosalind “Soup” Canty, against 132 lb. National Champion Simran Takhar.
General admission is free, with VIP tables and reserved seating available for purchase online. A bar and local vendors will provide food and drink for purchase.
