Members of the Auto Theft Unit began an investigation last Wednesday after finding a stolen vehicle in the area of Parent Avenue and Ellis Street East. A closer look by investigators found that the rear licence plate on the parked vehicle had been cloned.

Police searched the vehicle and found numerous stolen and financial documents belonging to multiple people.

The man was arrested on Monday afternoon in the area of Riverside Drive East and Louis Avenue.

He is charged with three counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, two counts of failure to comply with a probation order, one count of uttering a forged document, and one count of affixing a counterfeit mark required by law.

The charges have not been proven in court.
