Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on the roads of Windsor-Essex once again, arresting drivers for alleged impaired operation.
Within 24 hours on the weekend, officers arrested at least three drivers.
The first was on Saturday night at around 11:30 p.m. in Leamington. OPP officers responded to a complaint about someone driving erratically.
A 46-year-old Leamington man was arrested and charged with impaired driving, driving with excessive blood alcohol, and dangerous driving.
The second was at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Sunday in Leamington. OPP officers were conducting a RIDE checkpoint on Talbot Street West when they stopped a 32-year-old Leamington man.
He was arrested and charged with driving with excessive blood alcohol.
The third took place just before 7 p.m. Sunday in Lakeshore. Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Mariners Drive.
A 35-year-old Chatham man was charged with impaired driving and driving with excessive blood alcohol.
The OPP also responded to a single-vehicle collision in Lakeshore on Sunday afternoon, arresting a 30-year-old Windsor man.
The charges have not been proven in court.
