The Minth Group is moving forward with phase two of its operation with a partnership with AISIN Corporation.
The second 150,000 sq. ft. facility is part of the $300-million investment announced in April. It will also be located on the airport lands on Cabana Road.
"This signing celebrates the continued commitment of Minth to Canada and Windsor. With the addition of AISIN, the combined resources and talent will provide a tremendous team to support growth for decades to come," said William Chin, Chief Strategy Officer for Minth.
AISIN Corporation is one of the world's largest Tier One automotive suppliers, supplying to Toyota and other top global automakers. It's known for drive train systems, brake systems, power train, electrification components, and intelligent mobility technologies.
Together, Minth and AISIN will supply customers with competitive products that offer better performance and prices.
"We think there's a large field in front of us to be able to expand this even further as we go along. We're bringing some focused business in the beginning, but we think the future growth opportunity for this joint venture is untold," said Scott Turpin, COO of AISIN Corporation.
Construction of phase one of the project will be complete by September, with full-scale production expected to start in the second quarter of 2026.
Construction on phase two will start immediately.
Together, the facilities are expected to employ 1,099 people.
Hiring is already underway for phase one of the project.
