LaSalle police arrest same man twice in two days

LaSalle police have not once, but twice, arrested a man on charges that include theft, mischief, and failure to appear.

On July 29, police arrested a 35-year-old man on a warrant for failing to appear in court. It was endorsed by a Justice of the Peace, which allows police to release the person with a new court date.

Investigators say that within 90 minutes of the man being released, he allegedly entered a business on Malden Road off Wyoming Avenue, grabbed a set of keys, and stole the vehicle they belonged to.

The vehicle was found on July 30 by an OPP officer in the city of Windsor. The man was arrested and turned over to LaSalle police.

The man is charged with vehicle theft, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and mischief.

He remained in custody until he was released following a bail hearing. He has a future court date.
