Belle River man wins $5-million playing INSTANT MEGA

A skilled trades worker from Belle River who has been playing the lottery since he was 19 has won $5-million.

David MacDonald said he especially liked playing INSTANT MEGA, "because of the win potential."

The loyal lottery player said he was in disbelief when the clerk at the store checked his ticket.

"When I realized I'd won, I felt a little overwhelmed and starting shaking," said MacDonald who was grateful when the clerk offered him a seat. "My legs felt like jelly! I was completely shocked and my heart was racing. I just kept thinking to myself, 'This can't be true!"

MacDonald's plans for his new fortune are just starting to take shape. His wife plans to retire early, and he wants to help is mother and kids.

"This win means I can give my children a hand up to build their lives, and that means so much to me," said MacDonald.

He also has some dreams of his own to realize.

"I plan to take a bit of a step back from work to spend more time with myself and my family," he said. "I'll take this opportunity to enjoy a bucket list trip I've always wanted to take, a tour of England, Scotland, and Ireland."
