The Town of Essex is launching a new program for seniors called "Z.E.A.L.L. or the Zoomers Essex Active Lunch and Learn.
Starting September 23, the program will run monthly through to March 2026, offering seniors engaging, educational, and wellness-focused activities. The program will rotate between Essex Centre, Harrow Centre, McGregor Centre, and Colchester Centre over eight months.
Monthly-themed sessions will include healthy eating workshops, fitness and wellness activities, creative arts, technology skills-building, and local speakers.
"These physical activities, creative activities, and skills workshops will keep our seniors active and connected," said Essex MPP Anthony Leardi.
The program is possible thanks to a grant from the Ontario Seniors Community Grant Program.
"This grant from the Province of Ontario allows us to launch a meaningful program that celebrates and supports our senior residents," said Essex Mayor Sherry Bondy. "We're proud to offer a space where seniors can connect, learn, stay active, and build lasting relationships within their community."
