Windsor man charged in Belle River rollover

The Ontario Provincial Police has charged a 59-year-old Windsor man after a crash on County Road 42 in Belle River last Wednesday.

Police say the vehicle left the road near Belle River Road, rolled several times, and struck another vehicle that had stopped to help when the driver tried to drive away.

Officers noticed the driver appeared impaired and took him to the hospital as a precaution.

The driver faces two counts related to impaired driving and one of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The accused is expected to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on October 1.

His license has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for a week.
