Essex has a new Director of Corporate Services/Treasurer

The Town of Essex has appointed Kate Rowe its new director of corporate services/treasurer.

She started in the position on September 4.

Rowe started her career 15 years ago as a staff accountant for Hyatt Lassaline. She advanced to senior staff accountant and assurance manager at BDO, and later transitioned to municipal government.

Since making that switch, Rowe has served as the supervisor of accounting for the Town of Amherstburg while in Lakeshore, where she most recently held the position of senior manager of finance and deputy treasurer.

"Her proven track record in financial leadership and municipal management, combined with her strong educational background, will be an incredible asset to our town," said Mayor Sherry Bondy.

Rowe holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Windsor. She's also a chartered professional accountant.

Essex Chief Administrative Officer Kate Giurissevich calls her an ideal fit for the town's leadership team.

"I am confident her knowledge, leadership, and collaborative approach will contribute greatly to the success of the Town of Essex and the delivery of high-quality services to our residents," she said.
