WSO to host Celebration of Life for Maestro Franz

A Celebration of Life in honour of Maestro Robert Franz will be held next month at the Capitol Theatre.

Franz, the music director of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, passed away on September 2 after a second battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphona.

The community is invited to come together with his family on October 14 at 7:30 to pay tribute to him.

“Robert brought joy wherever he went,” says WSO Board President, Deborah Severs. “We were so fortunate to have him for 13 years at the podium. The Celebration of Life will be a special tribute to Robert and will allow us to come together and share wonderful memories of this amazing man.”

Invitations to friends and family were sent on Thursday. General seating for the community will open on September 22.

All three theatre spaces at the Capitol Theater will be used for seating and a live stream will be set up for online viewing.

Donations in Franz’s memory can be made to the WSO online at windsorsymphony.com or by phoning the office at 519-973-1238.
