Ward 2 byelection field set with 15 candidates

We now know who will be running for the vacant Ward 2 seat on Windsor City Council.

The deadline for candidates to file their nomination papers was 2 p.m. on Friday.

They are running to succeed Fabio Costante, who resigned the seat to accept a position as CEO of the Windsor-Essex Community Housing Corporation.

There were 15 candidates on the roster that was approved on Friday by City Clerk Steve Vlachodimos. They are the following.

  • John Cutting

  • Michael Di Pierdomenico

  • Frazier Fathers

  • Brian Green

  • Tecumseh MacGuigan

  • Christie Nelson

  • Jake Kelza Pollock

  • Sam Romano

  • Krystalynn Singh

  • Patrick Sutherland

  • Cynthia Ann Van Vrouwerff

  • Jun Wayan

  • Mo Zafar

Advance voting will be available on October 17 and 18 at Campbell Baptist Church on Wyandotte Street West.

The byelection runs on Monday, October 20, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The winner will complete Costante's term, which ends in November 2026.
