The Do Good Divas are supporting Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex for the third year.
The annual event that invites women to a silent auction and night of entertainment raised over $30,000 for the organization last year.
"We love that the money stays in our community and makes it better for everyone. To be able to provide safe and affordable housing is a benefit to our community, not just the one family that is going to be moving in," said Gale Simko-Hatfield, president of the Do Good Divas.
Some of the money from last year's event went to sprucing up a house on Bruce Street that will soon be the home of single-mom Lisa and her daughter Zoey.
"They're changing lives. These houses don't exist without people who are rallying together to do something good in the community. These ladies have been working on community support for 18 years, I think that's incredible" said Fiona Coughlin, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex.
Since 2007, the Do Good Divas have raised over $800,000 toward healthcare initiatives in the community.
"Having that roof over your head is so important to a person's overall well-being that it hits all the markers," said Simko-Hatfield. "We are a group that gives our money to health-related causes and programs and to me providing housing is overwhelmingly meeting that need for well-being."
This year's event is Thursday, October 30, 2025. For more information on the event, visit their website.
