Local organizations examining AI in the workfoce

Many businesses and organizations in Windsor Essex examined the benefits and challenges of artificial intelligence at the for AI Workforce Summit on Thursday.

The summit, hosted by Workforce WindsorEssex and WE Tech Alliance, gathered over 300 people to discuss how AI is being used in local organizations and how the technology can be embraced responsibly.

"I think it's really important for employers and businesses to have a conversation with their employees, because they're already thinking about it. The more you engage them, the more you go through their work flows and look at where can we remove those redundant tasks that you do and allow you to work on value-add activities," said Yvonne Pillon, president and CEO of WE Tech Alliance.

Pillon indicated there are many leaders in the community who have already embraced the change.

"Artificial intelligence is going to play a role whether we like it or not so the fact that we have these leaders is constantly harnessing that, building it into our businesses, building it into our organizations, our non-profits, our municipalities to really at the end of the day be more productive," said Pillon.

Both organizations share resources on their websites that can support businesses adopt AI and develop their workforce.
