Windsor police say a 16-year-old boy has turned himself in in connection with a violent hold-up earlier this week.
Officers were called to an armed robbery at a business on Wyandotte Street East near Hall Avenue at about 8 p.m. on Sunday. They learned that someone entered the store, threatened an employee, and demanded cash.
When the employee resisted, the suspect pulled a knife and pointed it, before leaving the store empty-handed. No one was hurt.
The youth surrendered on Thursday evening at Windsor police headquarters.
He is charged with armed robbery and uttering threats to cause bodily harm, and failure to comply with an undertaking.
The charges have not been proven in court. The youth can not be identified under the Ontario Youth Criminal Justice Act, and the photo released by police has been removed.
