Driver arrested after hit-and-run involving motorcycle

Windsor police say a 62-year-old man has been charged following a collision that seriously injured a motorcyclist.

Police responded to Dougall Avenue and the eastbound E.C. Row Expressway off-ramp at around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Officers were told that a motorcycle was travelling south on Dougall, when it was hit by a sedan making a turn west onto the expressway.

The sedan driver did not stop.

The 59-year-old motorcycle rider was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The sedan driver was located a short time later in a parking lot in Tecumseh. They were arrested and charged with failure to remain at a crash causing bodily harm.

The charge has yet to be proven in court.
