The investigation into a devastating weekend fire has been turned over to LaSalle police.
LaSalle firefighters were called shortly after midnight on Saturday morning to a home on Terra Bella Drive near Huron Church Line. When first responders arrived, the home was engulfed in heavy smoke and flames.
The home was under construction with no one living there. Damage to the home is considered a total loss.
An adjoining home was occupied, but everyone got out. It also suffered catastrophic damage.
The Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal has begun an investigation, along with LaSalle police.
"Investigators are asking residents in the area to check their video surveillance or dashcam footage for possible evidence, including any suspicious activity," said LaSalle police Constable Alaina Atkins.
Anyone with information should contact the LaSalle police's Criminal Investigation Division, or Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
